What does an electric scooter consist of?

The main components of the electric scooter:

1. Display
2. Controller
3. Battery (Battery)
4. Motor wheel
5. Brake system

Electric scooter display.

It is used to display the controls and settings of the electric scooter. What can be configured using the electric scooter display, what settings can be set for the safety of the trip and the long service life of the electric scooter can be read here.

Controller (motherboard) of the electric scooter.
The control board includes the motor-wheel in the electric circuit of the electric scooter. The controller transmits commands to the motor wheel and the battery, linking the force of pressing the gas trigger with the power of the motor wheel. The standard controllers are well balanced on all electric scooters, regardless of the brand and cost.

Battery.
At the moment, manufacturers of electric vehicles use more than 5 types of batteries. But for electric scooters, the most common type remains 1 – lithium ion (Li-lion) battery. This type of battery provides for the installation of a BMS board. The main functions of the BMS depend on the type of this board. One of the main functions of the BMS is safety (eliminates battery fires), so I described in detail the types and functions of BMS boards in the article «The electric scooter does not charge with what is the BMS?». About the electric scooter battery, you can read the article «Battery for electric scooter». The article tells you what to pay attention to when buying a battery. And visit the page of the website «Batteries for electric scooters» to find out how to properly store the battery and how much it costs to repair it.
The capacity of the battery depends on the power of the motor wheel. The motor-wheel in the electric circuit of the electric scooter is the main energy consumer. The higher the power, the more energy is needed to operate the motor wheel. Normally, the smallest battery of 4 Am / h is installed on a motor wheel with a power of 250 W. The largest, regular battery, 45 Am/h is installed on an electric scooter with a motor-wheel power of 6000W.

The motor is an electric scooter wheel.
The energy consumer in the electric scooter is turned on by the controller when the gas trigger is pulled. Mono-driven electric scooters have only one motor wheel, on the front or rear wheel. All-wheel drive is two electric motors for each wheel of an electric scooter. What gives all-wheel drive to an electric scooter:
— fast acceleration and maintenance of a higher speed of the electric scooter;
— increase in the service life of electric wheels;
— overcoming any degree of elevation of the terrain (guarantee of arrival in the hill).
All-wheel drive electric scooter implies greater battery power consumption. To the delight of the owners of fully powered electric scooters, the energy overspend is only 10%.
The motor wheels in the electric scooter are brushless 3-phase, equipped with hall sensors. The hall sensor of the electric scooter reads the position of the stater relative to magnetic fields. There are electric scooters without hall sensors. The main breakdowns of the electric scooter motor wheel:
— breakdown of the hall sensor,
— violation of the insulation of wires,
— wire breakage.

The braking system.
The braking system in an electric scooter can be regenerative, mechanical, hydraulic and hydromechanical. Whatever the braking system is, its elements are subject to natural wear. It is necessary to regularly replace the elements of the brake system.

Serviceable and properly configured eletrosamotaka elements are the key to a long service life of your electric vehicle!
